I would like to ask everyone: does each device’s process card have a column for design values? The safety supervision agency came for an inspection and required us to add a column for design values to the process cards. My understanding is that these design values refer only to the maximum design temperature and pressure that the equipment can withstand; as for the flow rate and temperature of the process fluids, we only have the values from the material balance sheet, which I don’t think can be considered design values. Has anyone else encountered a similar situation? Feel free to share.
Within process operations, there are normal operating ranges, safe operating limits, and critical operating limits. Under normal conditions, process parameters operate within the normal range. The safe operating limits are used for process alarms, while the critical operating limits generally trigger the activation of the SIS.
For process operation procedures, the process parameters must have design values or design ranges; Regarding process cards, which are used to guide operations within the normal operational range or the optimal control range, it is required that the design values at various points be specified on these cards. Personally, I think this is unnecessary, but many inspection experts insist on including such information in the process cards. Since there are no clear regulatory requirements in this regard, many companies still include it to avoid unnecessary complications
