To prevent frosting on the heat exchanger, the following measures can be taken: 1. Increase the heat transfer area of the heat exchanger, reduce the temperature difference of the cooling water, and slow down the rate of frosting; 2. By adjusting the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet or by using antifreeze, ensure that the temperature of the water entering the heat exchanger is not lower than 0℃ ; 3. Increase the flow rate of the heat exchanger to enhance heat transfer between water and exhaust gas, and prevent water from staying in the pipes for too long, which could lead to frosting ; 4. Cover the surface of the heat exchanger with insulating material to reduce heat loss from the outside of the heat exchanger ; 5. Regularly clean the heat exchanger pipes to keep them unobstructed, preventing the accumulation of dirt and bacteria that could form deposits and further impair the heat transfer efficiency. .
As long as the insulation is done properly, that’s enough. Frost formation occurs when the insulation is not adequate; cold leakage happens when the gaps between the materials are not sealed tightly. This is what happens in such cases
