Dear teachers: Both HG20613 and GBT9125 have expanded the scope of application for commercial-grade hex head bolts. Hex head bolts are available in grades 4.8, 5.6, 8.8, and up to 12.9. So what does commodity grade refer to? Bolts of grade 8.8 or higher are considered high-strength bolts; do they still fall under the category of commercial-grade bolts?
Commercial-grade hex head bolts refer to bolt products that meet **standards or industry standards, are manufactured using specific production processes, offer consistent and reliable quality, and are available in sufficient quantities. Commonly available commercial hex head bolts on the market include grades 4.8, 5.6, 8.8, 10.9, and 12.9, among which grades 8.8 and above are referred to as high-strength bolts. Therefore, bolts of grade 8.8 and above can also be classified as commercial-grade hex head bolts. .
The difference between commercial-grade and professional-grade bolts lies not in strength, but in material. This can be seen from the description in 4.0.1 of HG 20634, where two tables are provided for differentiation.
