Can a pipeline pump prevent it from running dry and getting damaged when there is no water or insufficient water in the pipeline ahead of the pump? Or are there any measures to prevent burnout due to idling?
Just install a level gauge relay (switch) to control the motor power supply. For reference.
It is also possible to consider installing an electric contact pressure gauge at the outlet; in addition to determining whether there is air or liquid present, it can also be used to monitor whether the pump is delivering the required flow rate. It seems that a short-term water shortage in a pipeline pump is not likely to cause the motor to burn out.
This setup is also acceptable, but it may not be as effective in ensuring operation at a certain liquid level; monitoring the liquid level would be better. The cost involved is considerable, for reference only!
But mechanical seals are most sensitive to being used without water – for reference only.
