Regarding the welding of the bottom supports for elbows with seams (elbows that have welds on their back side), our management requires that no welding be carried out at the junction between the support and the elbow’s weld, nor within a range of 2 centimeters on either side of the weld on the back side of the elbow, in order to avoid the formation of cross-welds. It has not been possible to find out whether such a requirement exists in the regulations. I would like to ask: Are there any such regulations in the standards? Or whether it is necessary to do so.
