Instrument air is supplied to the oxidation unit of the maleic anhydride plant, which means that a certain amount of air is introduced into the oxidation unit through pipes. This is usually done to provide a better reaction environment and facilitate the progress of the oxidation reaction. Steam was introduced into the pipeline carrying water through the heat exchanger; in other words, steam was fed into the heat exchanger via pipes for heat exchange purposes. Steam can provide heat, raising the temperature or causing evaporation of the fluid inside the heat exchanger (usually water or other liquids), thereby enabling the transfer of thermal energy or the regulation of the system’s temperature. .
Thank you for the reply! I checked some information and found that supplying instrument air serves another purpose as well: it is used for purging, to prevent the medium inside the pipelines from getting clogged, and it helps to maintain pressure balance.
The maleic anhydride purification system has an air purge line; does the air entering that system have any impact on the system?
