Is the design temperature for the part marked with the red circle not reasonable or problematic?
No problem; heat transfer between the low-temperature medium and the environment needs to be taken into account.
This makes sense – at negative temperatures, it’s necessary to build in a design margin for even lower temperatures, while for media at positive temperatures, the design must account for higher temperatures as well. The typical operating temperature range for ordinary steel pipes is above -20°C.
