Public announcement on Yanshan Petrochemical’s 4M1P project: On December 5, the Environmental Impact Assessment Report (draft for comments) regarding Sinopec Yanshan Branch’s pilot-scale technology development project for the production of 4M1P from 200 tons of propylene was made public on its official website. Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Branch plans to build a new pilot-scale plant with an annual capacity of 200 tons for the dipolymerization of propylene to produce 4-methyl-1-pentene within the chemical plant complex of the Yanshan Branch. The implementation of this project can not only break monopolies but also improve the quality and grade of domestic polyethylene resin, thereby enhancing enterprises’ profitability and core competitiveness. The project is scheduled to begin construction in February 2025, with a construction period of 5 months; trial operation is expected to take place in June 2025.
