On August 27, 2025, the Fuyang Ecology and Environment Bureau issued a pre-approval public notice regarding the Environmental Impact Assessment Report for the Kangtai’s Linquan Gasification Test Facility of Fuyang Kangtai Bioscience Engineering Co., Ltd. Contents of the project: Acquisition of a complete set of biomass gasification test equipment, as well as accompanying equipment such as straw pelletizing machines, feeding systems, low-nitrogen combustion units, along with substations, cabinet rooms, and fire protection systems. Upon completion, the pilot plant will have a processing capacity of 30 tons per day of biomass particles, with a pilot operation period of around 2000 hours. The syngas generated during this pilot phase is a flammable gas; therefore, a 3t/h gas boiler has been installed to handle this amount of syngas. Project investment: The total investment is 165 million yuan, of which 2 million yuan is allocated to environmental protection measures. On December 7, 2024, Fuyang Contech Biotechnology Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with Fuyang City to invest 1.25 billion yuan in building a project that will produce 200,000 tons of green methanol per year. The project is planned to be implemented in two phases: In the first phase, a pilot plant will be established in the Linquan Chemical Industrial Park, with investment made to build a biomass gasification pilot unit capable of handling 30 tons per day. The construction period is approximately 6 months, and this facility will provide crucial support for the large-scale validation of the technology. Following the success of the pilot project, every effort will be made to advance the construction of a large-scale production facility for 200,000 tons of green methanol per year in the second phase, aiming to establish a benchmark for green energy in the region. On July 19, the biomass fluidized bed gasifier of Fuyang Contech Bioengineering Technology Co., Ltd. was successfully lifted into place for the first time, marking the full entry of this project into the installation phase and laying a solid foundation for ensuring that it is ready for operation by the end of August.
