Zhonglun New Materials has successfully developed BOPA specific for solid-state batteries. On March 31, 2025, Changsu Industry, a subsidiary of Zhonglun New Materials, officially announced another breakthrough in the field of independent innovation in high-performance film materials: the successful development of BOPA designed for solid-state batteries. Solid-state batteries offer advantages such as high energy density, high safety, and a long cycle life, and are regarded as an important innovative approach to overcoming the limitations of range and safety associated with traditional batteries. Encapsulation materials are a key component of solid-state batteries. Special functional BOPA plays an important role in protecting the internal components of the battery, such as electrodes and electrolytes, by resisting external impacts, compression, and friction; therefore, high requirements are placed on the material’s flexibility, puncture resistance, and impact resistance. After two years of intensive research and development, Zhonglun New Materials’ R&D team, taking into account the characteristics of solid electrolytes, the operating conditions, and the requirements for their use, succeeded in overcoming key technical challenges by optimizing production processes and developing innovative material formulations, thereby creating BOPA specifically designed for solid-state batteries. This membrane material exhibits excellent mechanical properties, meeting the requirements for solid-state battery encapsulation.
