The patented technology of Southwest Research Institute solves the challenges related to the treatment of chemical industry exhaust gases. December 1, 2025 Recently, the pressure swing adsorption (PSA) unit for methyl chloride recovery, with a capacity of 2,500 standard cubic meters per hour, developed by Hubei Taisheng Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., was successfully put into operation. This project received full-process support from Southwest Chemical Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Southwest Research Institute”). Equipped with proprietary patented technology developed by the Southwest Research Institute, this device ensures that chloromethane emission concentrations remain below 20 milligrams per standard cubic meter, with a recovery rate of over 99.99%. It not only addresses the challenges associated with waste gas treatment in the glyphosate industry but also facilitates resource recycling. By serving as a model for the control of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the chemical industry, it will bring significant environmental and economic benefits to enterprises. As one of the major glyphosate producers in China, Hubei Taisheng previously used traditional organic vapor membrane recovery technology, facing issues such as low recovery rates and difficulty in meeting new environmental standards. To address this challenge in this industry, the Southwest Research Institute has developed a coupled process of \"compression condensation – pressure swing adsorption\". Operating in a closed-loop mode of \"pre-treatment + advanced recovery\", it first uses compression condensation to remove impurities and recover materials, and then employs pressure swing adsorption for concentration and recycling, thereby resolving the conflict between meeting emission standards and avoiding resource waste. Currently, this technology has been widely implemented on a large scale. To date, a total of 8 units have been installed in Sichuan, Jiangsu, and other regions. Thanks to its advantages such as deep purification efficiency, high recovery rate, low operating costs, high degree of automation, and great operational flexibility, it has become the preferred choice in the industry.
