As stated in the title: The design pressure for positive pressure can reach 2 barg; meanwhile, negative pressure design for complete vacuum is also considered. Due to the limited pressure-bearing capacity of the equipment, a complete vacuum cannot be achieved, so only positive and negative pressure protection measures can be implemented on the pipelines. The fluid is in the liquid phase. 1. Can a burst disc be used for negative pressure protection? The normal pressure is 1–1.5 barg. Are you familiar with rupture disks? 2. Breathing valve (single-suction valve): I saw a proposal for this on this forum, but all the examples I’ve seen are for gas-phase pipelines; I’ve never seen breathing valves used in liquid-phase pipelines. Are there any other suggestions?

Your question is confusing; it’s probably a low-pressure protection mechanism put in place to prevent the tank from becoming deflated or to avoid the lining coming off. If the requirements for air intake are not high, the simplest solution is to install an inlet check valve. To prevent internal and external leaks, a low-pressure sensor can be used to control the valve and enable automatic air intake
Since the equipment usually operates under positive pressure, but there is a concern about negative pressure, negative pressure protection is necessary – indeed, the worry is that a vacuum could cause the equipment to deform. The device itself also has positive pressure protection. Normally, the equipment is filled with liquid, and air entry is not desired; therefore, valves for allowing air in are definitely not suitable. Only mechanical protection for the equipment can be used
It is recommended to implement anti-negative pressure measures in the upstream system. As you said, it’s not easy to do this if it only applies to cans.
Can a pressure control valve be used? Place an electric contact pressure gauge, and set the valve that allows air to flow in to open when the pressure drops below a certain level
What kind of device is this? It creates positive pressure at one moment and negative pressure at another – it’s absolutely bizarre. Could you draw a schematic diagram? If not, then I’ll send it to a mental hospital; damn it :P
