He Mingyuan: An expert in petrochemicals, who focuses on combining scientific understanding with technical applications to achieve innovations and inventions in the field of catalytic materials for oil refining and chemical processing. Born in Shanghai on November 21, 1935. Graduated from the Department of Chemistry at Leningrad University in the Soviet Union in 1959. In 1991, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Zhu Daoben: Organic chemist and physical chemist. Mainly engaged in research in the field of organic solids. Born in Shanghai on August 20, 1942. Graduated from East China Institute of Chemical Technology in 1965. Graduated as a postgraduate from the Department of Organic Chemistry at East China Institute of Chemical Technology in 1968. Elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1997.
Bao Xinhe from Jiangsu Province: Physical chemist, mainly engaged in fundamental research in surface science and catalytic chemistry related to the efficient conversion of energy. Born in Liyang, Jiangsu in 1957. Graduated from the Department of Chemistry at Lanzhou University in 1981, and obtained a Ph.D. from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh in the United States in 1986. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Nanjing Normal University in 1992, her master’s degree from Nankai University in 1995, and her doctorate from East China University of Science and Technology in 1999. Chen Hongyuan from Zhejiang Province: an analytical chemist who primarily focuses on research in cutting-edge fields such as the fundamentals and applications of electrochemical analysis, nanobioelectrochemistry, bionic catalysis and biosensing, photoelectrochemistry, micro-nano flow chips, as well as new devices and instruments for life analysis. Born on September 3, 1931, in Shaoxing, Zhejiang. Graduated from the Department of Chemistry at Zhejiang University in 1952. Yan Deyue, elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1991: a polymer chemist. Mainly engaged in research on polymerization reaction kinetics, molecular design of hyperbranched polymers, and supramolecular assembly of irregular polymers. Born in March 1937 in Yongkang, Zhejiang. He graduated from the Department of Chemistry at Nankai University in 1961, completed his postgraduate studies in the Department of Chemistry at Jilin University in 1965, and received a Doctorate in Natural Sciences from Katholieke Universteit Leuven in Belgium in 2002.
