How can one determine whether the interlocks in a process are connected to the DCS or the SIS? Are there any standards or guidelines for making such a determination?
This requires HAZOP and LOPA analyses.
Generally, it goes into the DCS; things that are important and related to safety should go into the SIS, based on my personal understanding
