The flow rate at the outlet of the syngas produced by the vaporization furnace is 800 degrees; the gas contains fly ash and tar. A conventional contact-type flow meter probably cannot measure this value. Is there any non-contact type flow meter that can do it?

If the gas contains fly ash and tar, then proper piping arrangements are needed to prevent them from contaminating the sensor diaphragm. If the gas is at high temperature, then pressure reduction measures should be taken to lower the temperature for accurate measurement. At such high temperatures, it is difficult to measure gases along with liquids and solids, and even if measurement is attempted, the results are inaccurate, which poses difficulties in instrument maintenance. It is recommended to measure at the source, by tracking the flow rate of the single medium at the reaction inlet, as this provides more accurate results. If testing is necessary, I suggest trying a flow meter using an orifice plate or other throttling elements; this should yield better results

Over time, the orifice of the throttling device becomes smaller, which renders it ineffective; moreover, the pressure tapping pipes are more likely to get clogged.
A wedge flow meter can be used; it is capable of measuring viscous media as well as those containing suspended particles. The pressure tapping points are connected using flanges, which prevents the pressure tubes from getting clogged
