The image above shows a mechanical time-based softening valve on a soft water resin exchanger. The regeneration sequence is: backwashing – salt absorption – slow washing – fast washing – water injection. The problem is that the water injection step will not stop; what could be the cause of this?
How is the streaming operation controlled? Is it a PLC or DCS, or a single-loop controller, or manual control directly? If it is done manually, simply turn off the power supply to the feed water pump. With other control methods, it means there is a problem with the hardware or software of the control system. Check the wiring of the control system and sensors for any faults.

It seems to be a mechanical issue rather than a problem with the settings. Check the cams on the valve assembly to determine which one corresponds to the water injection valve, and observe its operation status. If it is rotating while in use and can reach its proper position, then the water injection valve is not closing properly, and it needs to be disassembled and cleaned. If it never reaches the proper position, there is a problem with the valve assembly; check to see if anything is stuck, and if that’s the case, it will have to be replaced.

The disk in the middle is the timer; 70-----86 represents the water injection time, and normal operation requires that water injection stop once this time has passed
