It is a polypropylene loop jacket water temperature control system; the controller operates two valves. When in automatic mode, the sum of the outputs from valve A and valve B is always 100. For example, if valve A’s output is 45, then valve B’s output is 55. What type of control system is this?

Perhaps my understanding is incorrect. By segmented control, I mean that the controller acts in segments; in other words, at any given moment, the output can only go to one control valve. Is it possible to send the signal to two valves simultaneously? I know there are overlapping cases; is this considered a complete overlap? And what does slope mean?

It should be a single-loop control system, just like controlling a three-way valve – one path sees an increase while the other sees a decrease. Personal opinion.
