The local control panel for the York propane refrigeration compressors restarts repeatedly, with no regular interval between each restart – sometimes it’s two hours, other times just a few minutes. Occasionally, the restart fails, and it is necessary to cut off the power supply to restore normal operation. This seems to be a common issue. Ammonia-based refrigeration compressors that I’ve worked with also experienced restart problems after about four years of use, though not as frequently. Eventually, it was found that the problem stemmed from the 5V power supply; you can buy a computer power supply and try replacing the system’s power supply
