Installation of orifice plate flow meters: Our catalytic unit is about to undergo maintenance, and we plan to replace the valve at the base of the orifice plate flow meter as well as the pressure tapping pipes with stainless steel. I was wondering if this should be fine. Also, I’d like to know what the disadvantages might be if we use a reduced-diameter pipe – in other words, installing the transmitter directly after the valve at the base. Any advice would be appreciated
Replacing it with stainless steel is to prevent corrosion, I don’t think there’s any problem with that; If the root valve is connected first to the isolation fluid tank and then a reducer is used to attach the transmitter directly, is maintenance easier in that case?
Several installation notes: (1) The pressure guiding pipes and pipeline accessories should be selected based on the medium and operating conditions. The pressure guiding pipe should preferably be laid over the shortest distance. (2) Once condensate appears, the inner diameter of the pressure guide tube must not exceed 13 mm. (3) The pressure guide tube is installed vertically or at an angle. When condensate may form at 30 m, the slope shall not exceed 1:12. When the length of the pressure transfer pipe exceeds 30 meters, it must be inclined in sections, with a sump and a drain valve installed at the lowest point. When no condensate appears, the slope can be appropriately reduced as appropriate. (4) The bend in the pressure guide tube should be smooth, with a bending radius of not less than 5 times the outer diameter of the pressure guide tube. When joining pressure guide pipes, there should be no weld bulges protruding or misalignment of the inner diameter. (5) The pressure guide pipe should be purged both before connection and after welding. The pressure guide tube system shall undergo strength and sealing tests. The strength test pressure is 1.5 times the working pressure; it must be maintained for 5 minutes with a pressure drop of no more than 3%. The sealing test is conducted at the working pressure, and it is considered successful if there are no leaks at any of the connection points. (6) The positive and negative pressure pipes should be parallel and kept away from heat sources; anti-freezing measures should be taken in cold regions. (7) For measuring gases containing corrosive substances, an isolator should be installed between the pressure tapping hole and the instrument; the isolator shall be mounted vertically on the pressure guide tube. The installation heights of the positive and negative pressure isolators for differential pressure measurement should be identical, and the liquid levels in the isolators should be at the same height. The isolation fluid can be selected according to the tables in this standard.
No problem, a stainless steel solution for catalytic conversion will work. The transmitter is installed directly on the root valve itself – what do you mean by \"reduction fitting\"? Shorten the pressure lead line length? As long as the temperature of the medium is fine, the longer pressure lead lines serve mainly to place the transmitter in an appropriate location; additionally, they help to reduce the temperature~~~
It’s better to have a three-valve assembly; it’s inconvenient to carry out repairs without one when working with the transmitter
This post was last edited by hfrs on 2017-2-7 at 16:03; it’s fine to replace the root valve with gold. It is certainly possible to shorten the pressure guide tube, provided that the temperature does not rise too high; transmitters generally do not exceed 150 degrees.
