Limit switch wiring

How is the wiring diagram for this valve limiter connected? Are 1 and 2 open signal feedback? Are 3 and 4 shutdown signal feedback? Where should the power supply be connected? Could you explain the diagram in detail?
The diagrams for inductive and dry-contact types seem to show both four-wire and three-wire connection methods. Generally, for inductive power supplies and signals, they share the same set of wires.
