This tank is a atmospheric pressure tank, with a magnetic level gauge flange of DN50 and PN16. Is there any problem with the level gauge as shown in the diagram? Also, is it necessary to equip a remote magnetostrictive level gauge with an on-site display panel?

As can be seen from the diagram, the level gauge uses a flanged type HG/T20592 PN40 DN50, which has a higher pressure rating than what you mentioned. It is not necessary for a level gauge to be equipped with an on-site display panel; decide based on the actual conditions – install one if on-site monitoring is required, and not if it isn’t

From the picture, the flange specifications on the side of the tank are not visible. The nameplate on the level gauge itself indicates PN16, while the flange of the level gauge (made of stainless steel) is marked as PN40 – this is incorrect. It is based on the flange body identification; as long as it matches the flange specification standards on the tank side, that’s sufficient. However, it is estimated that the atmospheric pressure tank is PN16, as PN16 is sufficient. Perhaps it’s recycled inventory from the level gauge manufacturers. Just because it’s a national standard doesn’t necessarily mean it will correspond; there are also different standards within national standards.

Internationally, there are mainly two systems for pipe flange standards: HG20592 is the European pipe flange standard system, namely the PN series (nominal pressure is indicated by PN), while HG/T20615 is the American ASME standard, the CLASS series (nominal pressure is indicated by CLASS). Judging from the markings on the level gauge flange, it is of European standard. 2. The level gauge is equipped with loose-flange connections, which facilitates installation; there’s nothing special else about it. 3. The flange specifications indicated on the manufacturer’s nameplate do not match those of the actual flange; the manufacturer is being careless. This resulted in the flange on the tank not fitting properly, making it impossible to install it – it’s a problem on the part of the manufacturer. The specifications listed on the nameplate should match those in the data sheet; if the specifications on the nameplate were followed, the installation would be possible.
