The function of the electrodes in an electromagnetic flowmeter is to generate an induced potential signal that is proportional to the quantity being measured. If there are problems with the electrodes, the electromagnetic flowmeter will not be able to function properly; therefore, it is very important to maintain the electrodes. The following information regarding the maintenance of electromagnetic flowmeter electrodes is provided for reference: 1. Before using an electromagnetic flowmeter, it is necessary to calibrate it using a standard pH solution first. Before operating the meter after calibration, it is essential to first clean the electrodes of the electromagnetic flowmeter with distilled water, and then clean them again using the liquid being measured. 2. If an electromagnetic flowmeter is not being used and its electrodes need to be removed, care must be taken to ensure that the contacts of the electrodes do not come into contact with hard objects; otherwise, any damage to them will affect their functionality. 3. After using the electromagnetic flowmeter, it is necessary to put the electrode cover back on it and fill it with a small amount of saturated solution – just enough to keep the bulb of the electrodes moist. Remember, however, not to soak it in distilled water. 4. It is important to keep the electrodes clean at all times, and to prevent short circuits between their terminals; otherwise, this will lead to inaccurate measurements and affect the proper functioning of the electromagnetic flowmeter. Everyone should be extra careful when using it, so as to avoid any minor negligence on their part from causing the electromagnetic flowmeter to stop functioning properly in the future.
