How to understand the pressure loss of control valves and the pressure difference before and after the valve

The pressure loss P1-P2 of the control valve described in the above figure is caused by the control valve itself. Does this mean that the description does not take into account the pressure difference across the valve as specified in the process parameters? What would the diagram on the left look like if that pressure difference were taken into account?
These P1 and P2 values represent the pressure difference before and after in the process; ideally, these are the exact values, but in practice they can only be considered approximate.
P1-P2 is the pressure drop across the control valve, which is related to the valve opening and flow rate.
