I was looking at it just now, and it mentioned P&ID process flow diagrams versions B, C, and D. So, how many versions are there in total for this P&ID? What are the differences between the various versions?
This post was last edited by sdlymtf on 2022-8-14 at 17:37. Our project currently only has a preliminary design P&ID process flow diagram; which version corresponds to A\B\C\D? What information does the automation instrumentation department of the design institute need to provide us at this stage?
It should be upgraded versions of different modifications after the P&ID diagram is approved.
I remember that explanations for ABCDEFG are all included inside. It should be specifically noted that the references for each stage may be more or fewer than those in this version.
Automatic engineering design is carried out in stages. Under the new system, they are called the basic engineering design phase and the detailed engineering design phase. Under the old system, it was called the preliminary design stage and the construction drawing design stage. The new system requires a total of 7 versions: A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. Among these, A, B, C, and D correspond to the basic engineering design phase, while E, F, and G correspond to the detailed engineering design phase.
It is clearly stated in the \"Specifications for the Design of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams\" (HG 20559-93).

The version numbers increase sequentially; that is, after version A is published and changes are detected, a new version is issued and labeled as version B. Therefore, all version numbers are arranged in ascending order, such as A, B, C, D… or 0, 1, 2, 3, with the one at the end being the latest version.
Now the tab has a dedicated version column, starting from Version 0 and increasing upward. B, C, D……These are generally used when dividing processes nowadays.
