May I ask if vortex flowmeters can be used with fluids of high viscosity (viscosity greater than 5000 centipoise)?
It should be fine; the instructions don’t mention viscosity.
It’s related to the detection principle; I’m not sure whether it can be used, so I’m asking
Being able to use something and using it well are two different concepts; for high-viscosity fluids, positive-displacement flowmeters are the best choice

It is best to avoid using vortex flowmeters for high-viscosity fluids, as these meters may not provide satisfactory accuracy or performance when measuring low flow rates. Positive displacement flowmeters or target flowmeters are recommended; electromagnetic flowmeters can also be used if conductivity is available.
Vortex flowmeters cannot be used with fluids of high viscosity, as it is difficult for such fluids to meet the requirements of vortex flowmeters and the corresponding Reynolds number. Vortex flow meters operate by utilizing the effects that occur when fluid forms vortices; they are not suitable for fluids with high viscosity.
Thank you for your reply. I also have a question: for materials with high viscosity, at a temperature of around 150°C, with a neutral pH and no corrosive properties, which type of flow meter would be suitable?
Its viscosity is too high; you can refer to the HG-T20507-2014 Specification for the Selection and Design of Automated Instruments. If the dynamic viscosity is greater than 20 mPa·s, it cannot be used.
