Can the instrument cable tray diagram be drawn directly on the piping layout diagram, and then the process pipelines on the tray be removed?
Specify the direction, elevation, and specifications of the instrument tray; it is sufficient to ensure that there is enough space at the site for the tray to be installed.
I want to draw it directly on the pipeline layout diagram
It’s definitely better to draw it directly on the pipeline layout diagram at the site, as this makes construction easier and also facilitates determining the relative position of the pipes. We have been doing this all along.
That’s what I did: I simply removed the process piping and drew the cable trays instead

We usually draw it based on the equipment layout diagram; you use the pipeline layout diagram, which shows pipes. Do you draw by breaking those pipes, or do you erase them? Removing all those pipes was no easy task; if they were all removed, it would just become a layout diagram of the equipment. Interrupting the drawing doesn’t make any sense either. Do cable trays pass through the pipes? Moreover, in your drawings, the only useful information is that related to your cable trays; the construction party uses separate drawings for the pipes, and for instruments, one only needs to consider the layout of the cable trays and the actual pipe conditions on site. The pipe information in your drawings is unnecessary – it’s basically just a waste of ink when printed out. .
On the floor plan, how?
Sure, it’s just the floor plan, that is, the equipment layout diagram – all the unnecessary information should be removed, along with all the annotations, to save space
