So, how is the ESD system designed these days? Is it based on what some people say: a SIL-certified system plus ordinary instruments?； Is it still designed according to the SIS system?
Strictly speaking, it should be designed according to the latter approach, but given China’s national conditions, the former approach is generally used in practice

To do SIS, one must follow the rules of SIS
ESD can be designed according to the former approach; if it is designed according to the SIS approach, it is no longer ESD but becomes a SIS instead.
