Regarding a fault with CS3000 signal reception

2-wire flow meter, signal 4-20MA passive signal. The on-site meter display shows 600, while the DCS shows 2400; the range of the instrument is 0–2400. When a multimeter is connected in series with the circuit, it reads 8 MA when connected to the positive terminal and 20 MA when connected to the negative terminal... What causes this? There are no issues with the DCS configuration or channels. . . .
Field transmitters usually have a test terminal; if it is present, you can directly measure it using the current range
Disconnect the transmitter and feed the signal directly from the signal generator to see.
The DCS display shows normal when a signal is directly supplied using a signal generator
If the signal is provided at the field transmitter, then simply replace the transmitter.
The circuit quantity is incorrect; it’s not the same circuit.
Use the hand controller to perform a loop test; if that doesn’t work, replace the transmitter!
The DCS has the same range as the field instruments, but the readings do not match. When the DCS is at full scale, it is likely a cable issue; I encountered the same problem and initially suspected the transmitter, but changing it didn’t help. Changing the DCS channel also didn’t work, while replacing the cable resolved the issue.
