Can one temperature signal control 5 control valves? Step control?
Split-range control refers to a situation in which the output signal of a controller is sent to multiple control valves, with each valve operating within a certain range of the controller’s output signal. Is it really necessary to use 5 control valves for temperature control?
As long as the process requires it, several control valves can be used for regulation.
I have worked on similar projects for about 5 years. But if a 3-stage version is feasible, there’s no need for a 5-stage one. As long as the valve is properly selected and has high precision, the fewer the better. As mentioned above, it is necessary to divide the 4-20mA signal at the valve positioner.
