I’m seeking advice from the experts here. I need to select a safety valve for one of our devices, an oil-water separator. The medium involved is a mixture of oil and water, with the light oil being discharged from the upper layer at regular intervals. The diameter of the pipeline is DN200, the temperature is 95°C, and the setting pressure for the safety valve is 0.54 MPa(G). The pipeline diameters before and after the safety valve are both DN200 according to the drawings; does this mean that the diameters of the inlet and outlet pipes of the safety valve remain unchanged? I chose A41H-16C, is that okay? The question is whether the discharge capacity of this slightly-opening safety valve will be insufficient to meet the container’s required safe discharge volume; I don’t know what that safe discharge volume is at the moment.
This post was last edited by HP0377 on 2017-9-8 at 18:02. It has been verified by the design institute; the inlet and outlet are the same, and what is discharged is liquid, so there is no issue.
This device was manufactured by another manufacturer on our request. Do I need to go and confirm this with the manufacturer’s design team?
The process system is developed by the design institute; the size of the equipment is adjusted, and the relevant equipment data is provided to the institute, which then checks whether the discharge capacity of the safety valves meets the requirements.
