What specialties do people choose for obtaining engineering titles in the instrumentation industry?

Is there a specialized field of instrumentation in this industry? My factory listed mechanical and electrical engineering for me. I see there are also specialties like automation and so on. What majors do everyone have? What are the differences? Please give some advice
My field is industrial instrument automation, which has nothing to do with the exams (they’re all in the engineering category), but since the reviewers during the defense are from related fields, it’s better to fill in the information accurately.
