For instrument valves, what are the forms of damage that can occur in sleeve control valves, and can cavitation of the fluid take place?
Corrosion, cavitation, wear, and tearing can all occur. Whether cavitation will arise depends on the operating conditions; not all sleeve valves are capable of resisting cavitation. This is also closely related to the selection of the valve – there are many different types of sleeve valves, and their noise reduction levels as well as their resistance to cavitation vary.
