Make a small device for water treatment; I don’t know anything about electrical control. I want to use a PLC to control the on/off operation of five solenoid valves (DN20). I would like to ask, besides PLC. Outside the time relay. What other electrical components are needed? I have a total of five movements. First, all five solenoid valves are open; second, solenoid valve 24 is open while the others are closed; third, solenoid valve 15 is open while the others are closed. Fourth, the solenoid valve 13 is on, while the others are off. Fifth, the solenoid valve 23 is on, while the others are off. The main action is one. After working for a while, perform actions two, three, four, and five, then return to one. Two time relays, one controlling the interval between one, two, three, four, and five. One controls the operating time of two, three, four, five. I’m mainly calculating the costs. Is there anyone who can help identify what electrical components are needed? Or provide a simple diagram to show how it is controlled.
It can be built by using a regular relay and a time relay. For simplicity, a micro PLC can be used
Is a transformer needed? I want to connect it to a regular household power supply
What power source does a solenoid valve use? AC or DC? What is the voltage? What is the current? These are designed for the selection of drive contacts ; Since a PLC has been chosen, time relays are no longer needed. The internal timer of the PLC can be used.
Two time relays are not enough; the PLC needs to be configured through programming, which is a bit more complicated.
The power supply needs to be taken into consideration, as well as what will be used to control the upper-level computer in the case of using a PLC. There are thus many issues related to software, among others, and it’s also necessary to decide which PLC to use
It is recommended to use a PLC that is more cautious in operation; something like Siemens’ S7-200 will do.
If you’re already using a PLC, then why use time relays? I don’t quite understand it – the PLC has its own timing functions, and solenoid valves only need an input and an output; everything else can be handled by the program~
Pure relay circuit: four time relays and five solenoid valves! If it’s controlled by a PLC! No time relay needed! Just program to output five DO relays!
