However, my university studies had nothing to do with instrumentation or chemical engineering; I had even never come across PID controllers before. I really value this job and want to learn as quickly as possible, but I don’t know where to start or what exactly I should learn. Please give me some advice. Thank you:handshake
It is recommended to start by learning the design standards adopted by the company, to examine more similar drawings from other projects within the same company, and at the same time to acquire basic knowledge in areas such as control engineering and testing instruments. At first, you won’t be given complicated tasks; ask questions and think more, and learn as you go when you have time.
You want the most cost-effective option: find a dedicated craftsman. As for whether he (she) will be willing to teach, it depends on how sincere you are!

Principles of chemical engineering and chemical engineering itself need to be studied; physical chemistry can wait. The principle is to focus on what is needed urgently first. The method mentioned upstairs is great; it’s important to find a good teacher, and the key is to ensure that he actually teaches you.
Learn from experienced masters more often*; it seems too late to start learning from books now
