I encountered a client who requested a layout diagram of the instrument air pipelines, with all pipes from the air source to the instruments that use the air being shown. I have never seen a requirement to draw the gas supply pipes to specific points; is there any basis for this? Are there any regulations regarding the depth of the gauge?
Is it a coal chemical enterprise in Ningxia?
The design institute should have drawings for the main air supply system; the client wants the drawings for this branch – is it for cost estimation purposes?
It is quite normal for the designer to provide the client with a layout diagram of the instrument air supply; this is in line with the HG/T 20510-2014 Standards for Design of Instrument Air Supply and the SH/T 3020-2013 Standards for Design of Instrument Air Supply in the Petrochemical Industry.
There need to be not only pipelines, but also electrical signals. However, such diagrams are different from process piping layout diagrams.
It definitely has to be there; it’s just a matter of the level of detail.
Refer to HG20638~20639 for the detailed specifications on automatic control design documents. There are two ways of representing instrument air supply: the instrument air pipeline layout diagram and the air supply system diagram. The layout diagram of the air pipelines requires more detail, and the client’s requirements are understandable; it seems that the original drawings prepared were all air supply system diagrams
For simple drawing, it’s actually not necessary to do anything complicated; just mark clearly the position of the introduction point and the main pipe
