It’s a large tank used for discharging waste liquid. This waste liquid is semi-liquid and sticky; there is a water meter installed at the source, which can only measure the flow rate of water at that source. However, since the waste liquid also contains substances like glue, how can the volume of the waste liquid be measured (that is, the level and amount of water in that tank)? Does anyone know what types of instruments should be used and where they should be installed? After all, the waste liquid is sticky, and float balls used in tanks tend to break easily. What other instruments are there for measuring water level? :dizzy:
A differential pressure level gauge is used to determine the liquid level based on pressure and density

Is the differential pressure level gauge installed at the bottom of the tank? Are there any precautions or more detailed plans?
The specific precautions depend on your process requirements! We have used differential pressure level gauges due to reasons such as cryogenic conditions and anti-freezing requirements
The tank we use for storing waste liquid is very large – it can hold several tons of liquid. Measuring the liquid level and the amount of waste liquid is a real challenge for me; I’ve never done this before. Is the installation complicated?

The waste liquid contains glue; it’s better to use contactless methods such as radar or ultrasound. There was a post a couple of days ago about using ultrasound for level measurement – take a look at that.
For simplicity, make two openings at the top and bottom of the tank, install base valves, and attach a section of pipe to create a U-tube, allowing direct observation of the liquid level
