Why does the diameter of the float decrease when the range of the float level gauge increases?
Taking a traditional float level gauge as an example, the buoyancy acting on the float is proportional to the cross-sectional area of the float and the density of the medium. When the liquid level changes, the force acting on the float causes it to move vertically; this movement is transmitted to the torsion tube through connecting rods, converting the vertical motion of the float into rotational motion of the torsion tube. Due to constraints imposed by connections and space, there are limits on the distance of movement. With a constant cross-sectional area of the float, the greater the measurement range, the greater the displacement distance; when such limitations exist, it is necessary to reduce the cross-sectional area of the float in order to keep the displacement within a certain range.
For immersion float level gauges, most manufacturers use the same type of gauge face； That is, within the range of operation, the weight of the sinker is roughly equal to its buoyant force ； In other words, the volume of the sinkers is roughly the same. To make a sinker of the same volume longer, it has to be made thinner.
