When conducting safety inspections at other companies, it was found that in several explosion-proof distribution boxes, the explosion-proof sealant at the power inlet areas had aged and fallen off. Rectification was recommended, but upon returning to the office, no relevant standards or specifications could be found. I would be very grateful if anyone could provide some guidance!

Explosion-proof sealant is made from a variety of high-molecular polymers imported from Germany, along with additives and plasticizers, all combined through a special manufacturing process. It is a dark black, solvent-free (odorless), environmentally friendly substance in a paste-like form that is harmless to humans. It is widely used in explosive-hazardous environments such as defense, the petroleum industry, chemical industries, gas stations, substations, hazardous warehouses, and other similar areas, serving as an explosion-proof isolation seal for fluorescent tube or cable wiring systems. It can be used to wrap wires, connectors, cables, pipes, ground wires, etc., to prevent fires.
Color: Dark, shiny black; it offers better impact resistance compared to other grayish-white explosion-proof adhesives, and is capable of absorbing explosive shock waves more effectively. Performance: It has a certain level of flame resistance and oil resistance. It has strong adhesion, shock resistance, and provides protection for equipment. Specific gravity: The adhesive has a high specific gravity, which allows for the use of less material during the construction of the same project compared to other explosion-proof adhesives. Quality: Tasteless, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly, allowing customers to use it with greater confidence.
Our company also uses this explosion-proof putty.
It’s right that it wasn’t found, because such use is not allowed at all.
I don’t understand. . . Is it clay, and therefore lacks explosion-proof capabilities?
In explosion-proof specifications, the flame arrestor inlet devices include sealing rings and packing; clay is not used.
I think explosion-proof putty can only protect against rain; at most it prevents explosive gases from entering cable conduits or junction boxes. In the event of an internal explosion, it certainly cannot prevent the release of energy.
