Hello, friends from HaiChuan. Since the time on the factory’s CS3000 system differs from that of other systems, this makes it difficult to conduct accident analysis. Therefore, the company has recently added a GPS clock server of the HY-8000 model, which uses the NTP protocol and has an RJ45 network interface connected to the engineer station. In the Internet Time option under the Date and Time settings in Windows on the engineer station, one should select “Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server”; the address of the GPS clock server should be entered, and then “Update now” should be clicked. Once synchronization is successful, the Windows time will be updated as well. However, after about two minutes, the time automatically returns to its original value. I have sought help from experienced users in QQ groups regarding this issue. The time on the CS3000 system can be adjusted through the operation interface, and it has been confirmed that adjusting the time there works properly; but changing the Windows time does not have any effect. As a result, the GPS cannot synchronize with the time on the Yokogawa system. I wonder if anyone else has encountered this problem? Could you please give some advice? Thank you!

I think I heard an engineer from Yokogawa say that there is a synchronization module of Yokogawa itself for synchronization time. Simply changing the Windows system time in this way may cause a mismatch with the controller’s clock; be careful, as it could cause problems if you need to perform downloads offline later. I think it is related to the controller’s clock, which is why you cannot change the Windows time.

GPS is just a clock reference; I think what’s more important is the clock synchronization of multiple systems within the same device – that’s the key. It’s not a big problem even if they deviate from standard time.
