Currently, there is a situation where a project has to be divided into two factory sites due to limitations in the available land at the facility location; the maximum distance between these two sites is about 2 km. I would like to ask everyone: what are the advantages and disadvantages of having the control room for centralized control in this situation, as opposed to having separate controls for each of the two plant sites? There are rewards for participation!
It is better to control the two plant sites separately.
The advantage of separate control is that the central control personnel are located closer to the site, making it easier to address issues. The advantage of centralized control is that it facilitates coordination between different production units, makes it easier to schedule production, and reduces some of the investment required for central utility systems.
