Can a differential pressure transmitter measure both positive and negative differential pressures simultaneously?

To measure the differential pressure between two devices, which can be either a positive or negative pressure difference, is it possible to do this using just one differential pressure transmitter? Or should it still be 2 pressure transmitters, with the DCS calculating the differential pressure?
