The network structure is as follows: an S7-1500+ unmanaged switch plus multiple ET200sps form a small system. Multiple small systems, a management switch, and an HMI combine to form a large system. My question is: 1. To reduce the broadcast domain and improve throughput, is it necessary to assign a VLAN to each small system? 2. After assigning the VLANs, I need communication within the 1500 range – how do I set this up on a management switch? (My understanding is that VLANs separate them, preventing communication; routing is required.)

I’m not sure how to manage IPs; whether to divide them or not seems to be related to the number of IPs (there might be a criterion for making this decision). In my case, a physical division is used, as different systems have their own engineer stations responsible for bridging
