I heard that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has a requirement: network switches should preferably be domestic ones, rather than imported ones. I’m not sure whether people use imported or domestic switches; what parameters need to be considered when it comes to switches? Also, does anyone have that document from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology? Could it be shared for review? :handshake
Number of interfaces (4, 8, 16, 32), interface type (optical port, electrical port), switch functionality (Layer 2, Layer 3).
There’s also the data volume: 10 megabytes/100 megabytes, 100 megabytes/1 gigabyte
A layer 3 switch is a switch that possesses some of the functions of a router. Its primary purpose is to accelerate data exchange within large local area networks, and its routing capabilities serve this purpose as well, enabling one routing operation to result in multiple transmissions. Regular processes such as packet forwarding are implemented at high speed by hardware, while functions like route information updating, routing table maintenance, route calculation, and route determination are carried out by software. Layer 3 switching technology is layer 2 switching technology plus layer 3 forwarding technology. Traditional switching technology operates at the second layer of the OSI network standard model, the data link layer, whereas layer 3 switching technology enables fast packet forwarding at the third layer of the network model; it can carry out network routing functions as well as optimize performance based on different network conditions
It’s the routing function; when VLANs need to be separated, routing switches are required
