Radioactive level gauge

The level gauge experiences sudden fluctuations when measuring the liquid level, before returning to normal. What could be the cause? The substance being measured is polyethylene (EVA), as shown in the figure below. No fault codes were found on the secondary meter; what could be the cause?
Who knows why? Think it’s haunted – that’s fine then. . . Radiation – stay away from it; be careful, as it can render your equipment unusable. If that happens, health insurance won’t cover the costs. .
