2017 Work Summary: Project (Electrical and Instrumentation) Engineer (Statistics Completed)

Looking at the computer screen, I really don’t know what to write. Mainly, this is the second time I’m writing it; the first version was lost after it was uploaded. 2017 was a year of hard work and hustle for me, as well as a year in which my emotions experienced extreme fluctuations. This year, I worked on various projects within the three organizations: Sinopec, CNPC, and CNOOC ； This year, I tried to register for a certification exam ； This year, I tried to change careers ； This year, I switched from construction work to supervision ； This year, I am about to face restructuring ； This year, regardless of gains or losses, the summary is as follows: I. Regarding projects: 1. For the electrical and instrumentation field, while carrying out construction according to the plans, more attention is paid to the coordination of procedures among related fields, as well as to the study and discussion of relevant standards. 2. While focusing on and delving deeply into the electrical and instrumentation field, study other specialties such as civil engineering, process engineering, and equipment engineering, striving to achieve multiple skills in one specialty. 3. While paying attention to the project’s technology, quality, and schedule, more emphasis is placed on improving project efficiency through technological improvements or the adoption of \"new technologies and new processes\". 4. Place utmost importance on project safety; no matter how good the quality or how fast the progress, if there are serious safety issues, then failing to complete the project might be the best outcome. 5. Attach importance to technology, but even more so to management; both need to be given equal attention – \"focus on both aspects, and ensure both are strong.\" 6. Regardless of which party you represent in the project, firmly embrace the concept of \"five responsible parties with a lifetime responsibility system,\" and never relax the standards for quality. II. Regarding career changes: 1. Quality engineer in the automotive industry: One should be familiar with the IATF16949 quality management system, as well as the five key management tools: PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and 8D reports. The more one uses these quality management tools, the more widespread their use becomes. 2. As a rubber laboratory technician, I have learned the standard methods for testing rubber hardness, density, and tensile elongation, as well as various physical and chemical tests such as adhesion strength, shear strength, tear strength, resistance to thermal aging, ozone resistance, flexural strength at low temperatures, burst strength, Mooney viscosity, resistance to fuel-induced deformation, pulse testing, and fuel permeability. This has given me a deeper understanding of the properties of materials. 3. Different industries allow one to acquire different knowledge, broadening one’s horizons. 4. Changing careers often requires starting from the bottom, especially due to the psychological impact; think carefully before making such a change. III. Regarding registered examination: 1. I passed the Second-Level Constructor exam this year. 2. Plans to take the safety and first-class constructor exams next year. IV. Regarding the restructuring: 1. The new entity will undergo restructuring next year; it’s uncertain what the future holds, so I hope there won’t be too much disappointment. V. Regarding 2017: 1. Do one’s job well and meet the goals set for exams; in one’s free time, practice writing with a brush or pen to keep oneself from feeling bored.
