Occasionally, the level fluctuates greatly with the float type; it has been determined that the issue lies with the float. How should this be resolved?

Since it’s confirmed to be a problem with the float, you can try replacing it.
1. Check whether there is any freezing at the torsion bar; low temperatures may cause moisture to freeze there, resulting in no change at low torques but sudden changes at higher torques. Pay attention to whether there is water vapor around ; 2. Try using a new transmitter and recalibrate it.
I have experienced situations where the DCS readings required manual intervention; the system was switched off on-site, the material was removed, and the float was taken apart for inspection. 1. Perform an external inspection of the float to check for any dirt adhering to it and look for any small cracks. Also, check whether there is dirt on the torque tube; clean it and calibrate the zero point and range by applying a weight. Any sediment or deposits in the connecting pipe should also be cleaned out. And then put it into use again
Hahaha, I have a float that seems to be in a similar situation to yours – there are significant fluctuations. But it’s not possible to deal with this issue inside the tank; it’s likely that there is fouling at the connection rod, and therefore the tank has to be stopped for maintenance in order to remove it. There’s nothing else that can be done.
Close the upper and lower manual valves of the float, isolate it and allow it to vent; check if there are any fluctuations. If there are fluctuations, it is a problem with the float gauge, and the gauge needs to be replaced. If no fluctuations occur, the float itself needs to be disassembled to check whether there is scaling or dirt on the float and the tank body, as well as to check whether there is scaling at the connections of the torque rod and whether the torque rod is loose or damaged
