The vortex flowmeter operates by converting the flow velocity of the fluid into the rotation speed of a turbine, which is then converted into electrical signals. These signals are captured by sensors and processed by modules to produce the flow data that we can view. Therefore, vortex flowmeters cannot be used to measure liquids or gases with high viscosity or many impurities, as such conditions can affect the rotation of the turbine and increase measurement errors. Below, the manufacturer’s technical staff provide some maintenance tips for users during normal use:Firstly, it is important to clean the exterior of the vortex flowmeter regularly. This involves removing the turbine’s rotating impeller for cleaning. There’s a small trick here: an O-ring at the water inlet allows the impeller to be removed easily for cleaning.
Secondly, if it is necessary to use a vortex flowmeter to measure gases containing impurities, a filter should be installed behind the air inlet. It is also essential to clean the filter regularly to ensure smooth gas flow.
Thirdly, when the device is approaching the end of its warranty period, it is important to have it serviced. This includes recalibrating the device and testing the sensitivity of the sensor and display module (as these services are charged during the warranty period).

Additionally, during normal operation, it is important to avoid exposure to wind, sunlight, rain, collisions, and excessive vibrations, as these factors can also affect the performance of the device.
