When using magnetic flap level gauges, many customers ask how to extend their service life. In my opinion, proper maintenance of these gauges during use is the key factor. In order to extend the service life of magnetic flap level gauges, it is necessary for us to understand their structure. A magnetic flap level gauge is a control instrument in which the indicator is installed on the outside or above the tank, used to indicate and control the liquid level inside the tank. The indicator consists of magnetic color chips; as the magnetic float inside the tube rises with the liquid level, these chips flip over, thereby indicating the liquid level. A magnetic switch or a remote transmitter can also be installed on the main tube to output switch signals or analog signals. Suitable for high-temperature, high-pressure, and corrosion-resistant environments; it allows for on-site display as well as remote control. In fact, the maintenance of magnetic flap level gauges is of secondary importance; since they require little maintenance in the first place, proper installation alone is sufficient to extend their service life. So let’s take a look at how to install it accurately. How to use a magnetic flap level gauge to make it more durable? 1. The level gauge must be installed vertically to ensure that the float assembly can move up and down freely within the main tube. 2. It is advisable to install a stop valve between the container and the level gauge, so as to cut off the material flow when cleaning or maintaining the level gauge. 3. Magnets must not be allowed to come near the main tube of the level gauge, as this will directly affect its proper operation. 4. After the level gauge is installed, the magnet needs to be calibrated; the flip column should be guided once, with red indicating a reading below zero and white indicating a reading above zero. 5. When putting the level gauge into operation, the valve of the lower liquid guide pipe should be opened first to allow the liquid medium to flow into the main tube smoothly, thereby preventing the liquid medium from carrying the float assembly upward rapidly and causing malfunctioning or erratic movement of the column. (If this occurs, wait until the liquid level stabilizes before using a magnet to realign it.) The above are the ways in which a magnetic flap level gauge can have its service life extended. Of course, there are other things to keep in mind when using such a gauge; to ensure its proper functioning within the piping system, it is important to follow practical guidelines in order to protect the gauge and enable it to continue providing benefits and convenience over an extended period of time.
