The project involves installing a E+H 500 series split-type battery flow meter to measure the flow rate of saline at -35 degrees Celsius. The electromagnetic flow meter is installed vertically, with its range set between 0 and 20 cubic meters per hour. When tap water was passed through the pipeline today, it was observed that the readings on the flow meter fluctuated greatly, ranging from -170 to 200 cubic meters per hour. This behavior is different from what is seen in analyses conducted by CNOOC

What line is blue? Is the power cable a separate one connected to the meter head? What is the power supply method? What’s the caliber? The pulsation is quite intense
There might be bubbles in the pipeline, wiring issues, components becoming loose due to heavy vibration at the site, or it could be a problem with the flow meter itself
It seems that the fluid isn’t filling the pipeline, so there are large fluctuations
Your sensor is located on the vertical pipe, and the fluid should flow from bottom to top; therefore, there’s no need to consider the scenario of an incomplete fill of the pipe. If there is enough straight pipe section, and if the gauge itself is functioning properly with correct wiring, it’s possible that the grounding of your sensor isn’t proper
For new projects, there are many issues to check: pipes that aren’t fully filled, gases present in the medium, strong electrical interference, and wiring problems. Check each one individually.
The wiring has been checked and there are no issues; there is also no high-voltage electricity in the vicinity. Regarding the problem of insufficient fluid level, since the flow meter is installed on a vertical pipe with fluid flowing from bottom to top, it shouldn’t be experiencing a low fluid level. It’s a new meter that hasn’t been used yet. If the cause cannot be identified in the next few days, we plan to contact the manufacturer

Check the flow meter to see if there are any alarms It is recommended to turn off the non-full pipe alarm function and give it a try
