Does the instrument air tank need to be grounded on-site?
By the way, isn’t this gas storage tank considered a pressure vessel? Will you be in charge yourselves? We are all in charge of the production workshop
The grounding of instruments mainly includes protective grounding, operational grounding, lightning protection grounding, etc. Refer to the attachment. My suggestion is that grounding is not necessary.
All equipment must be grounded, and the instrument air storage tank does not belong to the instrumentation system; it should be managed as part of the equipment in the process system in order to meet safety requirements.
There is no need to ground this post when posted here. The emergency air storage tank provided to address valve failure conditions, as an accessory to the valve, is the responsibility of the instrumentation team and does not require grounding. Wiring bridges need to be installed between the flanges on both sides of the valve and the pipes. The plant-wide instrument air storage tanks under the responsibility of the process department need to be grounded.
